2 x 30KW Solar PV Installations
Two 30KW PV systems have been installed on Barkis and Nickleby tower blocks in Buckland at the heart of Portsmouth.
These towers are 19 storey residential blocks and are the highest buildings so far that Solar Voltaics have installed on.
Challenges included getting all the materials to roof height and dealing with the exposed location and wind speeds.
The view from the roof was described as ‘spectacular’ by the installation team, with views over all of Portsmouth and the Solent.
The solar arrays are connected to the communal supplies of the buildings to offset power used for lighting and the internal lifts.
