Car showrooms are an excellent opportunity for the application of solar energy.

Daytime energy consumption is highest during the daytime and more so in the summer – just when the sun shines most and solar power can help out!

Mercedes-Benz South West is one of the fastest growing dealerships of its kind in the country.

Spurred on by personal recommendation, Managing Director – Mike Wickins selected Solar Voltaics to design and install solar PV systems for three of the dealership’s sites. In total over 256KW have been installed and are reducing both energy bills and their CO2 footprint.

The largest system, at their main headquarters site in Exeter has a capacity of just over 140KW and utilised a Schletter FixZ-15 mounting system attached to the standing seam roof.

Inverters used on all sites are by ABB and are connected to the Aurora Vision monitoring portal where Solar Voltaics monitor system performance and receive notification of any system faults.
